About Honey
PLEASE NOTE THAT UNFORTUNATELY WE ARE UNABLE TO FLY OUR ANIMALS EITHER WITHIN WA OR INTERSTATE
NAME: Honey
BEFORE SAFE ESPERANCE: Came to us as an owner surrender.
BREED: Terrier X.
General breed traits: Terriers come in all shapes and sizes and were bred for different purposes but many were for farm work or ratting, this means that some terriers will have a high prey drive due to their breeding. Today terriers are mainly companions. Terriers are generally high energy, very bright and quick to learn but can be stubborn. They have strong personalities and a sense of fun and want to be included in everything you do. Don't take on a terrier unless you really do want a constant companion.
ASSETS: Affectionate, devoted, shy, sensitive, active, sweet and playful! She has a beautiful beard!
FAVOURITE THINGS: Cuddles with her people and playtime with her knitted toy monkey. She LOVES to throw it around the room when playing.
OTHER ANIMALS: Loves all other friendly dogs that she meets! She hasn't been cat tested as yet.
GENERAL INFO: Honey is an absolute sweetheart. She is initially timid when meeting new people but once you gain her trust she will literally walk all over you and shower you with love. She's doing great with her lead training and loves to sniff new things. She is housetrained and knows a few commands already, so ongoing, gentle training will be a must for her. She can be scared and will bark at new things or sounds but quickly settles down. She's constantly clowning around and is just adorable, even when she's being a ratbag and chewing her foster carers shoes. Honey could live with another friendly dog who is young and playful.
HOME ESSENTIALS:
* A home where someone is home for a good part of the day on a permanent basis (not just through Covid 19)
* Honey has missed out on early exposure and socialisation so needs an owner who will put in the time to train and socialise her (appropriate training/classes are a must). 2 good walks a day are essential to keep her happy. An active family who gets out and about would be perfect for her.
* Honey needs a good sized yard to run around with her monkey to burn off her playful energy.
* Honey needs to be allowed to be inside or out as she chooses, and to be included as part of the family. She needs a gentle family, possibly with older children (10+) who are dog savvy and will handle Honey appropriately considering her slightly timid nature.- even though she wants lots of love and support Honey must progress at her own pace to avoid being overwhelmed..
If Honey sounds like the perfect addition for your family, please send an enquiry and we'll be in touch soon.
