Zakir

Zakir loves his humans and is very friendly with everyone he meets. Belly rubs whilst chilling on the couch next to you is just heaven for this boy!

He came to us with little training and has come along well whilst in care. He is house trained, walks pretty well on lead, knows sit and is learning all his basic manners and he sleeps well through the night at the foot of your bed.

Very food motivated, ongoing training can be made easier by his love of food..and praise! He does like to check out what you're doing in the kitchen and may put his paws on the counter to get a better view!! A stern 'down' will do the trick. He's not being naughty, just all those wonderful smells are far too tempting.

Zakir also likes to collect items around the house (like a shoe or towel), the good thing is he doesn't chew them, he's just a collector! He also has a teddy and balls that he loves and will play with for periods of time. Being on the couch with his humans is also a favourite past time for this lovely boy.

A good amount of exercise is needed for this boy, so a nice sized yard where he can run around, chase a ball or roll in the grass would suit. He also requires a good daily walk and potential doggy play time. He's being slowly socialised with other dogs and is happy and friendly with all he's met.

Zakir hasn't been exposed to the outside world very much and is now learning how nice it can be. He will require an experienced, dog savvy family that is committed to his ongoing development, training, socialisation and happiness. Experience with working through developmental issues with dogs is required. His new family should be willing to gently and positively expose him to the world around to help build his confidence and sense of security.

He'd also relish an adventurous family that will include him in their adventures and outings and all good things life has to offer. An affectionate dog, he loves having a cuddle, tummy rubs and lying next to you on the couch and be by your side everywhere else!! He's an amazing companion and is easily best buddy material.

Zakir will require a home with people at home most of the time as he's currently still finding his feet and lacks a sense of security. You should be a good leader to give him positive and clear direction, loads of love and some patience.
