About Bruce Melbourne
Bruce A.K.A 'Ringo Starr' Bruce sometimes worries that he may have missed his calling. In his mind, he is a superstar musician stuck in the body of a greyhound. A superstar drummer, to be specific. That’s how he got the nickname ‘Ringo’. With the way he thrashes his tail around rhythmically, Bruce, or Ringo, is pretty sure he was born a star!
Apart from his musical prowess, Bruce has a lot to offer. He’s an affectionate boy who craves company from humans (or his fans as he likes to call them). He can get anxious when his fans leave the home and would appreciate a doggy companion to keep him entertained through the day.
He is pretty well behaved and is learning commands like ‘touch’ and ‘come’ very quickly. Although he does have a cheeky streak and will definitely have a swipe at the food on the kitchen bench if he thinks no one is looking! His favourite snack of choice is banana. Bruce doesn’t let his rockstar lifestyle get to his head though. He walks well on the lead and is a sound sleeper as long as he is rugged up in a warm coat during winter.
All in all, Bruce is a super friendly boy who is gentle and kind to everyone he meets. While he may not get to live out his boy band dreams, Bruce will be pretty satisfied with a warm couch, a few walks each day and a family for him to call his own.

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.
