About Minnow
### PLEASE NOTE: due to our Rescue's Covid policy we are unable to adopt to people in the Stage 4 lockdown area’s ### Any applications received from lockdown areas will be disregarded.
Minnow has endless amounts of love to give to whoever is lucky enough to adopt her. She is a beautiful dog inside and out and we have yet to meet anyone who doesn’t love her, or that she doesn’t love either. She is overly excited to meet other dogs, however not aggressive- she just really really wants to say hi! She would benefit from having a calm dog to help guide her in life. She can get in other dogs faces but she means well.
Minnow needs a home where someone is home often to reassure her life is all good, when they are not home she will look to her doggy friend for comfort. Minnow is still learning to walk on the lead but has terrific recall and really belongs on a farm or house with land where she can run around all day and accompany her family on many walks, DO NOT apply if you are not on land please. A family with older kids would be great to help keep willow entertained, however as she is easily excited small children risk being accidentally knocked over. She is great with chooks and has been around cows and horses with no desire to chase. She is not however suitable for a home with cats/rabbits/other small pets. Minnow is fully house trained and will sleep through the night on her bed, waking at about 7, she will then either need to be taken outside for a walk or will also settle quickly for a snuggle with her humans if allowed (and they are needing a sleep in!) Minnow rarely barks and she has been fine in secure fencing however is prone to sneak through gaps or holes if she can fit and her humans are not close by. She is a very intelligent dog and as with most working breeds will need to be kept busy and entertained to avoid boredom, she is already fantastic at fetch and could easily learn new tricks and talents! -
A condition of our adoption agreement is that all dogs adopted from Chally MUST be put through obedience training, if you cannot meet this commitment please do not apply. All our dogs deserve the chance to be the very best they can be and we will choose homes that will ensure this is the case.
Adoption details
All forms (including foster and adoption) can be found at the following link:
http://www.challyanimalrescue.org.au/adopt.php
** Only applications submitted via this link will be considered **
Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
