About Macchi
Macchi is a couch potato who loves nothing more than a rub on her full belly after dinner. Small / Medium in size (17kg). She is a sweet girl, who loves people and dogs. More confident with the latter, we believe Macchi has had some experiences that have left her a bit nervous around new men. However, once she warms to a man (which doesn’t take long), she will always greet them with the same level of love and affection they’ve shown her.
She would love a easy going and placid doggy pal (but not essential), who could set a good example and reassure her on her first nights. However, strictly no dogs with behavioural or dominance issues as Macchi is very submissive, easily bullied and her anxiety is easily triggered.
While in foster care she has been friendly and very affectionate to young children in the extended family, however, we are not looking for a home with kids at all. Maachi doesn't like to be forced or bossed around and may nip. She does well with clear instructions given calmly and she will happily obey.
She enjoys going for walks, loves the dog beach for a play and swim, sleeps well through the night, is house trained and is an affectionate, easy dog in the right environment. She's also cat friendly.
Macchi came in with a skin condition on her chest and since being in foster care it has completely cleared up after two baths. Still, this is something to be conscious of as it could return in the future and require treatment.
She needs new owners who’ve had experience with dogs as she thrives with structure and discipline; this means no feeding from the table/counter and no sleeping in the bed. She is obedient, quick to adapt to new rules and well-behaved - but if you give her an inch, she will take a mile.
She often gets nervous with loud noises/ environments and would do better in a quiet household, preferably with very few visitors and an enclosed yard for her to explore (although currently living in a unit with no issues). Macchi finds thunderstorms quite scary too.
She is toilet trained, confident on a lead and good with basic commands. She likes to say hello to everyone on the street and is always happy to go on a walk. Macchi is lower in energy and came in a bit overweight, but since going onto a simple structured diet and taking part in daily games of chase, her foster carers have witnessed improvement in her physical fitness. Currently she is sleeping well through the night on the floor in her dog bed.
We are looking for an experienced home with someone home most of the time as she gets upset if left alone for too long. She's not for the novice owner or elderly as she's still a little strong and needs a firm leader to help build her confidence and guide her through the world. Her environment should be quiet and easy going (not suited for inner city living). Another friendly and chilled out dog at home would also suit.
Macchi is a gentle, soft-hearted, loveable dog with a great personality. She is a perfect companion for a homebody, as she will always curl up with you on the couch.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
