About Daisy
It has come time for us to find a home for Daisy..... for those that have been hiding under a rock or don't follow our our Facebook or Instagram page.... it has been a long journey for this girl.
Daisy came into care from a regional shelter where she was surrendered due to not being able to afford her vet bills. We were told she needed bilateral elbow surgery for elbow dysplasia. Which is something that would not be easy for a young and bouncy puppy who didn't get the memo that she was in a lot of pain (due to being locked up in a small space for most her life - she as just SOOO excited about everything).
She came into care, we fundraised and found some dedicated carers to see her through these mammoth surgeries. Luckily the specialist surgeon actually said she only needed surgery on one elbow after all! So she is 8 weeks out and finally off crate rest, she is allowed light exercise and more freedom. We figured since Daisy needs a special home we would start the search now. It will be another few months before she will be able to have intense exercise, so we have to be very strict about her forever home.
Miss Daisy is FULLLLLL of personality, you will not find another dog like her. She loves humans, she loves playing and has a love for dissecting stuffed toys, she is the perfect amount of naughty and a complete love bug. Daisy will happily ignore other dogs when out and about however, due to her recent surgery she will be seeking an only dog home OR a home with a mellow male dog where the owners will have the ability to separate them as she is not allowed any rough play for another few months. She will also not be allowed any dog parks or dog beaches etc until she has her final visit with the specialist surgeon (which we will arrange and pay for).
Daisy has lived with a cat, however she will need a home where they are willing to separate her from the cat and do gradual introductions over the coming months to ensure they accept each other and she remains calm. Like all our dogs, she will require minimum 5 foot fencing and a home that allows her inside as a member of the family.
Daisy has not really been left alone since she came into care as she has been on strict crate rest and supervision so she will require a home that are home a bit or can help her transition into being left alone for longer periods, as this will be a massive change for her. Therefore we are not taking applications for people who work full time hours at this stage.
This girl is very special to our rescue and we have all fallen in love with her over the past months and we want to ensure she only goes to the very best home. So if you want this sweet sassy girl to be a part of your fam, then fill out the attached application, please keep in mind we will be VERY VERY stringent with all apps and we will be taking our time as we aren't in a rush:
