About Winnie ~ Wolfhound X (On Trial 26/09/20)
Hi, I'm Winnie and pretty darn cute! I am a female 10 week old Wolfhound X Bull Arab X Bulldog and can't wait to find my forever home. My foster mum says that I'm an independent confident young lady! I'll happily walk over my six brothers and sisters to get to you first. I am a firm believer in first in best kisses!
Given our breeds, me and my siblings are a pretty intelligent, even-tempered bunch of bubbas who would LOVE another friendly, similar sized dog to play with in our new homes. Older dogs will find my puppy playfulness way too much! I will be best suited to a home to a couple who adore large breed dogs and have lots of canine experience. I’m not suited to a home with young kids as I have sharp puppy teeth and I really want all the attention myself ! A home with teenagers older than 16+ years who are confident with big dogs would be OK though.
My siblings and I are a special bunch of pups - we love watching T.V of an evening, we eat dinner after 6pm and then we put ourselves to bed. We sleep all night long and wake at 6am when our foster mum wakes us. We've even learnt how to use the Puppy Potty Patch to relieve ourselves and we mostly go outside to toilet throughout the day. See - I told you we were special!
Before applying for me or one of my siblings I have some questions for you to consider:
-Have you thought about loving and caring for me for the next 12-15 years - maybe even longer ?
-I am a furever dog not just a COVID dog
-I won’t be a tiny puppy for long and will get up to mischief as I become a teenager. Are you ready for that?
-Have you thought about my extra puppy meals throughout the day?
-Will somebody be home more often than not to keep me socialised?
-I will most likely be a large adult so do you have solid and tall fencing (5-6 foot) to keep me safe?
-I won’t suit an apartment , courtyards or a small yard. I need a medium to large yard to play and rumble in!
-Have you thought about my ongoing physical training and mental stimulation (enrichment games) so that I don't get bored and destructive?
-Will I have access to inside at all times to ensure that I am a part of your family?
I'm watching and learning from you from the moment I open my eyes. Being inside means that I will learn what leads to praise and reward and what doesn't. Being under supervision also means I learn boundaries (crucial as I grow older) and means I am less likely to develop nuisance behaviours due to boredom.
If you’re keen for an attentive and affectionate chap like me then please email my foster mum Kelly on adoptmefromkelly@hotmail.com . I’m located near Wyong (Central Coast). You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
As I am not yet desexed, I am only available for adoption to Newcastle, Lake Macquarie, Central Coast and Port Stephens areas as I will need to be returned to our vet for desexing when I am approximately 5 months old. Exceptional Sydney based adoptions will only be considered upon approval. I am NOT available for long distance or interstate adoption.
My adoption fee is $600 which covers my desexing, vaccination, microchipping, flea and worming treatments. You can see all of our available dogs at www.dogrescuenewcastle.com.au
Medical notes
Due to a rough start, I have shown some adverse reactions to vaccinations and supermarket type treats. This has been shown in the form of wobbly legs and lethargy shortly after. My new home must be aware that this is a possibility into the future and that I may or may not grow out of this. It's something my new family must keep aware of and ensure I am safe at all times.
Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
