On Hold
About Duke ~ 6yr Old Puggle (Hold 12/08/20)
Introducing Duke ! Duke is a Puggle ! Don’t know what that is ? Well neither did we..lol. A Puggle is a Pug x Beagle. Duke has certainly got the pug face with the Beagle size, weighing in at 20kgs of loving.
Duke gets on well with other dogs, living with a few foxies & a lab x. Duke looooves kids but is scared of adults. Duke has a tight inner circle, if you spend the time to build trust with him, you are in, it doesn’t take too long & does seem to prefer females. He will cuddle you, play with you, follow you around endlessly. Anyone outside of the circle, he barks at & backs away. With time & training it is likely he can learn it’s ok to trust people outside of the circle.
Duke is house trained with a doggy door. Duke is a food lover, very much like a food vacuum. Duke will beg, borrow or steal food. Duke has lost 4kgs since coming into care & will benefit from a few more disappearing.. Duke is learning commands and responds to stay & sit. Duke hasn’t been tested with cats or pocket pets, so we are unsure how he would react. Duke loves to go for walks and is improving on the lead. Dukes enjoys going in the car & can jump in unassisted.
Duke is enjoying being an inside dog, living & sleeping inside with his family.
So, Duke needs a special family, one that understands he loves a back rub & a tummy scratch, but also that you need to earn his trust, this is not automatically given. And it is so worth it, when you do.
This big ball of lovable puggle is ready and waiting for his amazing new home. To enquire or know more about Duke, please contact his carer Doreen at Doreen.newton2@bigpond.com.
You can also apply to adopt Duke by filling out the adoption questionnaire here: https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
Dukes adoption fee is $350 which includes desexing, microchip and vaccinations. He is up to date with worm, flea and tick treatments.
