Zeus recently required surgery to have two lumps removed from his leg. Unfortunately for Zeus, both lumps came back with the dreaded ‘C’ word - yep! Skin Cancer! Zeus was diagnosed with hemangiosarcoma, a type of cancer that is derived from cells that normally create blood vessels. As you can imagine, this has made Zeus’ adoption process a little more complicated. First of all, we wanted to make sure there was no sign of metastasis, and thankfully an abdominal ultrasound confirmed that Zeus was in the clear!
Secondly, our vets have assured us that the skin form of hemangiosarcoma is the best type to have, as surgical removal of any skin tumours is often curative. Zeus is just five years of age and has a lot of love and life to give. We are hoping to find Zeus an owner that loves doggy cuddles as Zeus is a bit of a snuggler. Zeus also enjoys his daily walks and is happiest when he is laying next to his humans. If Zeus has any further suspect lumps arise within 12 months of his adoption, Animals in Need Brisbane will happily contribute funds towards surgical removal. If you would like to have a meet and greet with Zeus, we ask that you fill out the respective forms and please understand that only suitable applicants will be contacted at this stage.

Adoption details
We list animals for adoption on Pet Rescue as well as on our own Animals-in-Need Website. We talk with people who contact about an animal to see what their needs and situation are. My emphasis is on getting the right animal for the people and the right people for the animal. If everyone's needs are met things usually work out well.
If the situation sounds good we arrange a meeting. If all goes well we let people try the animal out for a couple of weeks to ensure that everyone is happy.
We keep records of all adopters, follow up to ensure all is well and undertake to take back any animal if circumstances change.
