Hamlin is a superb young boy who is ready to get on with the rest of his life. Hamlin can be wary of people he doesn't know and also gets on well with other dogs. Hamlin has been in Foster Care for much of his life, so he has had great basic training and is both toilet and crate trained. Hamlin will be a large, strong adult dog and it is imperative that is new owner continue with is training and maintain his socialisation to people, other dogs and the world in general. Hamlin must have daily exercise, enrichment and be allowed to live indoors when his people are at home.

This dog appears to be a purebred. IE; there are no other dog breeds recognisably present. With any purebred dog - RSPCA ACT strongly suggests that any interested adopter thoroughly researches the breed to ensure that it is the right match for your home/family/lifestyle.

Guarding breeds of dog tend to be large, powerful and muscular. Guarding breeds generally bond well with their owner/family, but once settled into their home can become very protective and may display protective behaviours (holding ground, barking) towards visitors to the home. This is a breed trait that may need to be managed for the life of the dog.

We recommend Hamlin as an only dog with no other small pets. Please remember that all interactions between children and dogs/pups should be monitored.

The adoption fee for Hamlin is $750.00 which helps to cover the cost of his mandatory de-sexing, vaccinations, microchip and a lot of care from the RSPCA crew. Who says you can't buy love?!
