About Sigourney
Sigourney had a tough start to life. She was found as a stray in the Drummoyne area, fending for herself, terrified and alone.
She was handed in to us here as a very shy and frightened kitten. But with patience, time and lots of gentle love, this little lady has blossomed into a wonderful companion and more importantly, she feels more confident and safe.
From what her foster mum says, she’s still quite shy with new people, but once she gets to know you she’s a total lap cat. She really does form a bond with yo, and she is the sort of cat who wants to be in the living room with you, cuddled up watching tv and an integral part of the family.
We don't think she would do well in a home with young kids running around, loud noises and lots of activity can be stressful and overwhelming for her.
Her foster mum has also sent us some really helpful tips for how to win this little lady over and settle her in. These are uploaded in her photos.
Adopting a cat means a 15-22 year commitment, so we urge you to properly consider all aspects of this decision. There is a lot of 'impulse buying' of pets at the moment during Covid; our adoption kittens are precious and they deserve a loving, responsible, and PERMANENT home. Please discuss this with all family members and make sure you are ready to make this commitment prior to adopting.
Adoption details
Please contact the clinic and ask to speak with Rosie, our cat adoption program coordinator.
All cats and kittens adopted out from Drummoyne Veterinary Hospital MUST go to either an indoor-only home, or a home with a suitable cat-proof outdoor area or enclosure. Our mission is to make Sydney a better place for cats, their families and our precious wildlife. That means responsible re-homing. We want our cats and kittens to go to the safest, most loving of homes. We don't want them exposed to risks such as getting hit by a car, dog attacks, cruelty from people, injury or death from cat fights or dog attacks, or contracting infectious disease. We want them to live a long, happy and healthy life with their families; safe from harm :)
