NOTE: To adopt Mya you must be able to come to the shelter to meet her in person. We do not transport our animals to new homes.
What I need in my new home:
• Daily walks, trips to the park or beach, playtime in the backyard
• Further training with basic doggie manners
• To be allowed inside with my family
• A doggie playmate would be great, if not then lots of socialising with other dogs
• A cat may be ok with a slow introduction.
• I like both male and female dogs however can be shy at first
• I have lots of energy so an active family is a must
• Secure Fencing (6ft Colorbond or equivalent)
• Lots of toys and mental stimulation
• Lots of love and attention
• I can be shy at first so I need a family who'll allow me to grow in confidence in my own time
• Regular grooming so I'm always looking my best
Things that I don't want in my new home:
• To be left alone in the backyard for without any interaction
• Not to be allowed inside with my family
• Never to go on a walk or rides in the car
My best features:
• LOVE people and snuggles once I warm to you
• Happy to hang out with other dogs once I get to know them
• I can sit, stay, and come when asked
• I am housetrained and used to being inside
• Very gentle and sweet nature
• I love toys, playing fetch and rounding things up
• I walk well on lead
• I love attention and having snuggles with my humans
• I have happily lived with cats and other dogs
Where I need to improve / Training required
• I was surrendered for barking at raindrops, training and desensitization should help this
• I am a very clever, young and active breed and will benefit from a family with working breed experience
• I am shy at first with new people and in new environments so will require a family who will take their time allowing me to settle in and continue on with my socialization
• I would be great for dog training, trick training, agility etc.
ANY EXISTING DOGS MUST COME TO THE SHELTER TO MEET MYA PRIOR TO AN ADOPTION BEING APPROVED
