These besties are in foster care together and have become so close that we'd be absolutely thrilled if they could find a forever home together ❤
LUNA
Luna is great with people and will immediately snuggle up to visitors or ask them to play, she is usually the most social one in the room. Luna is gorgeous with silky silver-grey fur and vivid green eyes. She’s a true sweetheart and will run to greet you with a friendly trill and a rub of her head. Luna is still a kitten so it’s important to spend time playing with her throughout the day. She is known to follow her foster carers around everywhere they go! She loves to play and has lots of energy. Her favourite game is to play fetch with something long like a tape measure or a ribbon. She also loves to play soccer with ping pong balls!
BAXTER
Baxter started out life as a stray and has benefited hugely from foster care and from living with Luna and has started to become his true self – confident, curious and kind. Baxter is a handsome boy with a tuxedo fur coat and big gentle green eyes. He’s an absolute dream to take care of as he is very independent. He’s starting to come out of his shell and find things to play with and pounce on. He will spend his day in the same room where people are, and he’ll find a spot to sit nearby so he can watch the action. If he thinks there is a chance he might get food or a treat he will follow you around everywhere!
Their favourite treats are raw or cooked chicken chopped into small pieces (no bones!). They like to eat dry biscuits and will graze on them throughout the day when they wake up from naps. Both are very well house trained and have never had any accidents.
During the day they find a sunny corner to nap together, and when they wake up they will have fun entertaining each other and playing. At night Luna likes to sleep on the end of the hooman bed, and sometimes Baxter will join her or be on the floor nearby; in time he will be up there every night with his girlfriend and family! During the evening Luna will snuggle up on the couch to hang out and watch TV, and Baxter will be somewhere near by wanting to get in on the action – sometimes he’s brave enough to jump on the couch, and no doubt with time he will feel more and more comfortable. Their favourite shows are nature documentaries!
They would suit a home with adults where someone is home for at least a portion of the day to spend time with them. They're endlessly curious so would love somewhere with a window to look out on a garden.

Sunny Days began in 2017 and runs a self funded rehab shelter for stray cats in Lara, halfway between Melbourne and Geelong, Victoria. 90% of the animals rehomed through Sunny Days are rescued and rehabilitated ‘true stray’ cats; cats who’ve grown up wild, with very little or no experience with humans. To our knowledge there is no other rescue group or shelter in Australia specialising solely in the medical and psychological rehabilitation of stray and feral cats.
Our aim is to rescue, humanely rehabilitate and appropriately rehome cats and kittens who would otherwise be ignored, hit by cars, baited, euthanised or die alone of illness or hunger. We see each cat as an individual, requiring it's own individualised rehoming program and the right type of home for their level of rehab and temperament. We also provide support to local cat owners who require assistance to desex and provide a safe home for their cat, and actively work with the community, vet clinics and other industry professionals to decrease the stray cat problem.

Our shelter runs at a loss due to the type of animals we take in - terrified cats who need months if not years of care, and often hundreds more in medical treatment than we can adopt them out for. Shelter running costs are about $1600 p/month. We fund this excess out of our own pockets because we believe the cats deserve a chance.
