About Venus
Venus is a gorgeous girl full of tortitude. She is not a cat for a novice owner given her rough past but she is still an exceptionally loveable cat with plenty of growth and affection in her. She will need a home where she can is the only cat in a quiet, child free home.
Venus (also known as ‘Miss Sassy Pants’, Vu-vu and Miss V) came to us after she stopped coping at the shelter and started lashing out. With her babies long since adopted, Venus had stayed in the shelter for 2 months and developed some stress about being there. Since being in foster care though, she has flourished into a beautiful and affectionate cat. As she likely missed most of her chance to be a kitten, she is now making the most of all the toys she can have (her favourites are the dangly ones on the string!).
Venus never misses a second of mealtime and responds very well to treats and redirection with food as she does get a bit difficult. She is a little vacuum and will happily nibble on anything left out.
Although she has come along way in foster care, her adopter will need to be aware that in times of stress or when she feels overwhelmed with attention, Venus may still lash out. This is rapidly reducing in both intensity and frequency. Once she is settled and feeling safe and secure, she is more likely to simply rest her teeth on you or bat a paw your way to let you know she’s not enjoying what’s happening.
Otherwise, Venus is a wonderfully affectionate cat who loves being brushed and having her cheeks/ ears and chin rubbed. She would love a new family who understands she is very loving but needs to feel secure before she continues to thrive.
Medical notes
Venus is a happy, healthy girl who is microchipped, desexed and up to date on vaccinations and flea/ worm treatment.
