About Jazz
PLEASE NOTE: Due to COVID-19 and travel being restricted, we are only allowing our dogs be adopted in NSW or ACT.
We really need an experienced German Shepherd owner to provide Jazz with a forever home.
Last month we were contacted about a 14 month old pure black GSD who needed our help. Our volunteer assessor found a lovely young Shepherd, who was so in need of love and socialisation.
Jazz was living in a confined concrete area, and spent her days looking in through the back door.
At times Jazz was allowed inside where she was starving for affection. Jazz did have contact with her owner and the toddler grandchildren where she has developed a loving nature towards little people.
Unfortunately Jazz has not received a lot of dog socialisation. She was rarely taken out for walks. We collected her shortly after assessment, and took her straight to our vets and then into foster care.
Jazz can be shy when first meeting new people, but quickly comes around. She loves to be patted and will lean into you and gently jump up for love.
Jazz has now been in care three weeks and is fascinated by everything, as if it’s the first time she has seen the world. She is very scared of being on-lead, and is reactive to people walking past and other dogs approaching but is manageable.
Jazz is receiving daily training and is now house trained and also sleeps quietly in her crate at night.
She is reactive to other dogs and we are working with a dog trainer to alleviate her fear and for her to learn to be a calm girl and enjoy the company of other dogs.
So we are looking for a home where someone will be dedicated to working with Jazz while giving her plenty of time to feel safe. She has such a sweet nature and will sit on your feet, lean against you, and lovingly give you kisses.
If you have the time, patience and understanding to be the forever Mum or Dad to give Jazz a chance to be loved and allow her to develop into a fabulous companion dog.
Jazz would be best suited you a home with no cats, pocket pets and possibly as a friend for a good natured medium sized desexed male dog.

Medical notes
Jazz comes with her full vet history, she is desexed, has been fully immunised since a puppy and has been wormed, tick and flea treated. Jazz is not able to eat chicken or any dry food containing chicken.

Adoption details
We have an Adoptions Manager who screens all prospective candidates as to their suitability to adopt a German Shepherd Dog.
We try to contact every one by phone but if that isn't successful we will email our application form to you, which needs to be completed and returned, or you can call us back and we can chat and complete for you. We will also ask you to provide photos of your yard and fencing to enable us to see where the dog will be kept and that they have areas of shade and shelter.
All our dogs are ready to go to their new home, so when you enquire about a dog you must be in a position to take them into your home. We are unable to hold a dog while you fix your fences or go on holiday, etc.
The successful candidate who adopts one of our dogs is provided with an information kit, ongoing support, training and advice on all aspects of feeding, training and general assistance to ensure both the new owner and our rescued dog settle into their home.
