About Kenny
5-year old boy Kenny is on the lookout for his forever home.
Kenny is a sweet boy, with lots of love and affection to give. In his foster home, he has a whippet sister, and we think he would do well in a home with another friendly dog (preferable female) but would also enjoy life as an only dog. In that case, he’d like lots of human attention please, so people who work from home, work part-time, or can take a pup to work would be best.
Kenny is a big and fairly boisterous hound, and would prefer a home with no young kids or elderly people he might accidentally knock over. He just forgets his size sometime and there’s a lot to be excited about in the lovely life of a pampered pooch. Don’t let his bursts of energy fool you though, Kenny also knows how to ‘couch-potato’ like a pro.
Kenny is toilet trained and has good house manners. He knows his basic commands but sometimes appears to have a case of ‘selective deafness’ and would benefit from some on-going basic training. He’s a pretty clever boy really.
When Kenny came into care with Amazing Greys, he was a skinny boy and has shown some resource guarding behaviour around food, and with his preferred human (he is currently a mumma’s boy). This has improved over time and is relatively easily managed by continuing to give him space while eating, and ensuring all adults in the home participate in training to build their relationships with Kenny. However, a new home should consider if they are comfortable working through this with him.
We’d love to hear from you if you think you might have the perfect home for this handsome lad. Please email at adopt@amazinggreys.com.au.
Before applying please consider:
a) what your work/social situation will look like once Covid19 restrictions ease
b) the long-term financial commitment of caring for a dog
Please no applications from homes with resident cats or other pocket pets.
Please note that due to current Covid19 restrictions we are preferencing homes in the Melbourne metropolitan region.
