It's finally time for our gorgeous little man Scooter to start looking for his special forever family. Scooter joined us as a private surrender at 8 weeks of age due to his birth deformities.
He was born with mild "Pectus Excavatum" with causes his sternum to be more flattened than usual. His case is mild/medium and doesn't cause him any obvious issues in life. It has improved slightly as he has grown bigger. Scooter also has "Hemivertebrae" which causes a curvature in his spine, between his shoulder blades. His is quite bad, and the "dip" can be seen and felt on our little man, however this isn't causing him any issues at this point of his life. Because everything comes in 3's, our little man was also born with a deformed leg which was slowing him down. He has had his gimpy leg removed a couple of weeks ago, and is already getting around much better. He has healed incredibly well from surgery, and you would think he has always been three legged!
Scooter can be a very social man, but can also be a little reserved at times. He can get a bit overwhelmed at a large group of people, but soon warms up to his humans quickly. Once he knows you he is one smoochy little man, who is going to make the perfect couch snuggler. Scooter is very friendly with other cats, and must go to a home that has another friendly and playful feline. He enjoys cuddling up with the other kitties in his foster home, and enjoys grooming them and loving upon them. Scooter is also friendly with dogs, and lives with friendly and gentle dogs in his foster home.
Scooter does have a few requests for his forever family:
• He remains strictly as an INDOOR ONLY cat unless he has access to a secure outdoor enclosure.
• His new family has another feline friend for him to love.
• His new home doesn't have any young children.
• His family keeps him at a lean body weight to help his back leg carry the weight of two. (Okay this was from us and now Scooter himself). 🐷
• His new family understands that he has birth defects that aren't causing him discomfort or pain now, but he will need regular vet check ups to ensure he remains this way for many more years.
Please get in touch if you think you can offer Scooter his perfect forever home, or would like more information about our little man. 🥰🥰
