About Saxson
Saxon is 11 yrs old and not so much wise as wacky! he can be vocal when he thinks he should be inside and enjoys a good *staffy chat* with you when you get home. Saxons *happy place* is inside the house near the human folk (watching tv is good) and given the chance he will claim any mat / rug / cushion left on the floor as his own. He has good manners, well house trained and is mostly obedient. The exception being recall when enjoying off-leash time. . . . He just gets a smell in his nose and has to search it out. Saxon walks well on lead and enjoys a game of ball, but mostly likes cuddles and company. He has adjusted to the female dog company he is currently keeping though he does like to be the boss dog. He would be equally happy being a one dog household as long as he had quality family time/inside time when the family is home. Saxon was a little stressed when he first arrived at bfr and was suffering hair loss and itchy skin. He is much better now and has nearly grown all his fur back and is looking handsome again. He has no other health issues and so far seems storm tolerant. He is quite gentle chap and is child (toddler) friendly. He is a reasonable watchdog and might also warn you about encroaching wildlife (we have discovered that saxon has not met many frogs in his previous life!). Saxon had a history of escaping from his previous home but apart from his off leash wandering has not shown any tendency to dig / climb or jump our fencing.
