About Buffy
I'm your perfect retirement companion. My microchip details say I'm not quite 8 years old, oh to be that young again! My vet and I know this is incorrect, I am around 12 to 13 years old and just loving the fact that BARRC have given me a second chance at life.
* I am quite blind now that I am getting older, my eyes have dulled and I can only see a short distance in front of me but still love to chase my ball if I can keep my nose on it.
* My skin was itchy and dry but the lovely vet gave me a cortisone injection and some low dose steroids to stop the crazy itch whilst I recover a little. No one is sure if I will need ongoing care for my skin or simply just a good quality diet.
* Sometimes I forget where I am. They call it early on-set dementia but I call it 'finding my way in a new home'. The vet is unsure if this will increase or I will simply remain the same amusing character for my longevity.
* I get along fine with all people but because I can't see them easily, I don't much like surprises.
* I have smelled out other dogs and the small older ones are fine in my company, I just get frightened by the youngsters and prefer a quiet home though I do thoroughly enjoy my daily walk in a quiet area.
I really hope you can forgive old age and all that it comes with and offer me a comfy home for my remaining years. I have a lot of love to give.
