About Minnie ~ 17mo Toy Poodle ~ On Trial 25/7/20
Minnie in size, but not in nature, this 4 kg pocket rocket has energy to burn and is looking for just the right home. Poor little Minnie has already been rehomed twice, due to no fault of her own, but at 17 months, it is imperative we get it right this time.
Minnie is a Toy Poodle cross Terrier and traits from both breeds shine through. She is super smart and super quick. She is tenacious in spirit and bosses her big foster brother and sister around. She adores her foster sister in particular who is a Kelpie cross. Minnie has made her opinions very clear about cats however, so she will not be rehomed with feline siblings.
This pint sized puppa has personality in spades. She loves to play with toys, initiates chasings around the house and does flying leaps onto furniture and beds that defy gravity. She is also very hard to catch, which is a learnt behaviour and one which means she is definitely not suitable for elderly owners. She will run through a door before you even see her and will only be caught on her terms. We are working on this with her, but safety in her new home will be imperative to her placement. We are very much seeking a person who will continue with her training to sit, wait and come and this may require some dog training classes.
Minnie at her young age, has also had a dental cleaning in care, which is unusual for a young dog. We have adjusted her diet, but her new owners will also need to be prepared to monitor her teeth throughout her life and be diligent with her to maintain good health and comfort.
Due to her physical size, Minnie will not be rehomed with children under 12. If she were to be dropped or accidentally trodden on, well...... she would break easily. She adores playing with her teenage foster kids, but children will have to be respectful of her size. She is also quite anxious around new people.
Minnie is toilet trained with a doggy door and prefers to be allowed inside mostly. She has learnt to spend some time out with the big dogs, but wouldn't cope with that all day. She likes sleeping on human beds, but is also learning to have calm time in a crate. She enjoys a bit of a dig in the yard, she is after all, still a puppy. Her yard will need to be little dog proof, with no soft spots under fences.
If all of that is workable for her perfect family, what you will get is the absolute sweetest, cutest, snugliest little dog. She is a great little guard dog and is crazy happy to see her humans when they come home.

Minnie is currently in care in Port Stephens NSW and her adoption fee is $700 and includes desexing, vaccination and microchipping. Minnie is up to date on worm and flea treatments.
