Onyu

It’s time for the world to meet OnYu! This little love bug is just the most snuggly and gorgeous kid on the block. He enjoys the finer things in life like lying on the couch and going for walks. He loves people and enjoys saying hello to everyone who will let him on his daily outings.

OnYu came into care quite overweight and he has been on a diet since. His new family will need to continue this by providing a good quality diet and watching the extras! He is currently on a supplement called Antinol as when he came into care we were a little concerned about his hips. Our vets couldn’t find anything sinister but have suggested his new owner should continue him on some sort of joint supplement, so a home committed to providing this is a must.

We are looking for a home where OnYu will be allowed inside as part of the family. He is friendly with other dogs but does get overwhelmed easily by bigger or overly friendly dogs so we feel he would be best as an only dog. Homes with quiet small dogs will be considered. Although he is small, he is very strong on leash and needs continued training. Due to this he needs to be homed with people who are capable of walking a strong dog. He has good basic training and is a respectful housemate. He did mark in the house initially but with corrections he has stopped. Going to a new environment he may try to mark inside at first, so a family committed to refreshing his toilet training is a must.

OnYu is not suitable to a home with cats, pocket pets or birds. Although he is small, he is very determined with smaller animals and even with an experienced home we do not feel he could be integrated to live with them. We are looking for a home where someone is home most of the time as he doesn’t like to be left alone for longer periods. He is apartment friendly but does bark for a little while when everyone leaves so this must be considered.

Overall this boy is a seriously lovely and hugely affectionate and will make an amazing addition to the right family. He must be allowed inside to be part of the family and be provided a warm comfy bed inside of a night time. His ideal family would be a quieter home with people who like to get out and about with their furry friend.
