About Rachael
All About Me and My Unique Personality:
Rachel came into care with what we believe is her half sister Pearl (a very fluffy Ragdoll cross)
While the two don't seem to be bonded (OK to be adopted separately), if you're considering two kitties these girls get along well. They can be adopted as a pair if desired. So please let us know. You'll see Pearl in some photos below - she's the fluffy white cat.
Hi! I'm Rachel! I was shy when I first came into care, but now I know that human friends are wonderful. I'm happy and friendly, and I've learnt to be confident and curious. I love purry pats and snuggles, and warm laps are my new favourite thing. They're pretty great, aren't they?! I love human company and often approach for pats. When I'm not in a zoomy playful mood, I enjoy being picked up for cuddles. From time to time I climb up on my foster mum's working desk to say hi and get some pats (or even some warm lap time). My foster mum thinks I'll make a fantastic lap cat.
I came into care with my fluffy (probably) half sister Pearl, but we're not super attached to each other - often I hang out with my foster mum while Pearl is off doing whatever in a different room. I look out for Pearl because she's often afraid, and she's not very clever. I play with her and groom her a lot, to make sure she's ok. Sometimes we sleep curled up with each other. I don't like to sleep with the human on their bed, but I do like to nap on the human's bed some days because it's soft and sunny. And if my foster mum is having a lazy weekend lie-in, I might climb up to enjoy some pats and snuggles.
I'm young and have kitty energy, so I like climbing and chasing and playing a little each day. I'm ok at playing with toys by myself, but I have most fun when I can play with a friendly cat or human. I might get bored if I don't have interaction and play each day. Morning and late evening are my favourite playtimes. Otherwise I usually find a nice sunny spot for a nap.
Every now and then during play (or if you try to rub my tummy, eww!), I get excited and use my claws. Generally I'm gentle, and I'm learning that human hands are not toys, but I forget from time to time. For this reason I'm not a suitable companion for young children.
When I came into care I didn't know what a scratching post was, but I've figure out scratching panels and flat scratching pads now. I haven't demonstrated destructive behaviour, aside from an occasional accidentally-stuck claw in some fabric.
I'm vaccinated, desexed, and looking for my perfect forever home.

Pop Quiz!
* Purring style? I think I'd call my purring style "intermittent muffled miniature jackhammer"
* Do you ask for pats, or just wait for them? I often approach familiar humans for pats. I usually welcome pats any time except when I'm energetic and playing.
* Litter box usage? I'm gold class, expert litter user. No accidents. Like most cats, I expect a well-maintained litter tray.
* Strange noise? Observe, maybe get closer to find out what it is (as long as it's not too scary!)
* Climbing? I like being up high. Enjoy climbing to the top level on the kitty climbing frame.
My Ideal Home:
My ideal home would be with a family who can be gentle and patient
