About Shaz
Shaz’s Story
And the question do you believe in miracles and 2nd Chances!?
Shaz arrived at the facility back in Early January with her sister Tamara and brother Woody..they were brought to the facility by a member of public concerned for their wellbeing on an abandoned property.. they were around 4.5mths of age when they came into care, we knew straight away they were unsocialised with humans, we coped a lot of hissing, growling, hiding and at times a launch or two with the added swipe if our interactions became too close for their liking, more so from our girl Shaz...Our respect and trust was going to be well and truly earnt by these three.
Feral or unsocialised kittens under 8-12wks have a much higher success rate of rehabilitation then your older age groups..the older the cat the harder and longer it can sometimes take and the reality and likelihood of success can be slim..it takes a lot time, patience and routine repetition..thankfully we had two foster carers willing to try and give them the best 2nd chance possible.💕
After 2-3mths Woody and Tamara had come around and were super affectionate little snuggle bugs that lapped up any attention they could get and were adopted not long after...But unfortunately for our Shaz she was failing to come around or even look like trusting anyone any time soon...We relocated Shaz to another carer for a more a one on one approach, which was the best decision yet...We noticed every week she was becoming more and more comfortable and confident and those feral unsocialised traits started slipping further away...
Shaz now, After 7 months of rehabilitation...A totally different girl, she is all things sweet, loyal, affectionate, inquisitive and playful..Shaz is also cat and dog friendly and makes a great couch or movie buddy to lounge around with...Shaz also is a lover of fine dining and food..gourmet treats are her favourite and played a key role for us in her rehabilitation😉👌🏼 this will win her heart in a instant..we can not be more prouder of this girl and how far she has come..a success story worth celebrating with a big tick on her behavioural assessment of “Ready for Adoption” Woooo-hoooo!!! ✅ 🥳
It just goes to show with the right kind of patience, love and kindness even the most impossible beginnings can have a happy ending..now let’s find you your purrfect forever Shaz😻
So if you believe in 2nd chances and think you have the best treats & a loving patient home for our girl Shaz we would love to hear from you......we will have her foster carer contact you to organise a meet and greet🐱🐾
