About Oakley
Hi! I’m Oakley and I love to play! Oh boy do I love my toys and playing fetch – I can play fetch all day. You see, being a blend of fabulous working breeds, I’m very active and focussed on my goal: to catch that toy and bring it back to you. I can’t even be distracted with treats! Humans have said I’d be good at agility, flyball or dock diving but I don’t know what those things are yet, but if I get to have a good run, I’d love to give it a go. I love car trips, walks, the beach and getting out at about with my peeps.
I can be a little timid when meeting new people at first, especially men, but once I get to know you, I’m a real sweetheart. I haven’t been around little people much, so I think a home with older kids (12yo+) would be best. I am used to living inside and love to sleep under your bed so I can protect you all night.
There are some funny birds that live with us (I think they’re called ‘chickens’) but I don’t pay them much attention at all. I’m not fond of those pesky cats so a cat free home is a must! I’m fine with most dogs my size or smaller but sometimes bigger dogs can be scary so a proper introduction would help me to be less afraid.
I try really hard to be a good boy and know a couple of things like ‘sit’, but some further training would really help me to be the best dog I can be! Plus it would mean I could put all my focus on you – my new BFF!
So if you are looking for a new best friend who can keep up with your active lifestyle AND you are willing to put in the training so I can live my best life, please apply – I can’t wait to hear from you!

Here are some quick tips to make your APPLICATION stand out:
Include as many details as you can about your lifestyle, family, accommodation, and work. Here’s some first-hand feedback from our member rescue organisations about what they'd like to see in your applications:
🐱 Why would this animal suit your home? (This lets them know that you've read the pet’s bio and considered their personality vs. your lifestyle)
🐾 Details about your family
🏡 Is your home quiet/relaxed or loud/busy? (Particularly important for timid cats)
Fill out the profiles of your current pets if you have any. Understanding the personality of resident cats and dogs will help rescue organisations or foster carers determine if the pet will adjust to your surroundings.
Remember to be respectful and kind in your enquiries. A simple greeting can go a long way! Behind that screen is a real hooman, who loves and cares for the pet you're enquiring about just as much as you will!
Be open and honest - rescues prefer having as much information as they can about potential adopters.
