About Aggie. Melbourne
If this gorgeous gal doesn’t win you over with her beautiful brown eyes and little white smudge on her nose, then we don’t know what will! Aggie is a cheeky, curious girl with an incredibly loving nature.
Her favourite things to do in foster care are visit her foster parents for pats and good morning kisses by visiting each side of the bed, munching sky raisins and letting out a soft little bark to let you know she has listened but not agreed with you.
Aggie loves two short walks a day and would ideally have a home with a backyard for zoomies. She prefers human company to that of her four legged comrades and would enjoy being the centre of attention as an only dog.
Aggie is a smart girl, who has learnt a lot (and quickly!) whilst in foster care. She even knows how to ‘knock’ on the door in order to get her humans to let her out for a wee.
Aggie needs a home where her humans don’t mind her slight kleptomaniac tendencies, as she enjoys making a nest of treasures. She can’t guarantee they won’t be lightly chewed in the process.
Aggie is still learning to walk properly on the lead, and after some initial excitement she will walk well without pulling (…unless she sees a cat.)
Aggie requires a home where her parents are willing and able to continue working on her issues with separation anxiety. Another hound for company would be great.
Also Aggie doesn't like polished floors so carpet in much of the house would be great.
Aggie is not cat or small-dog friendly

Adoption details
Dogs are pack animals and Greyhounds, in particular, are very familiar with being surrounded by other dogs in their racing kennel environment. For this reason, when left alone without people or other dogs for company, they can be prone to separation anxiety which can manifest in destructive and/or noisy behaviour. Yes, they may "grow out" of it after a few weeks in their new home, but why put the dog through that stress to ultimately live all day alone, while everyone is at work? As a result we do not rehome dogs into households where they are left on their own for more than 4 hours per day, without either people or another dog for company.
During the COVID crisis, not all of our rescued Greyhounds will have the usual socialisation with other dogs so we may advise to use a muzzle in some situations until the dog is fully socialised.
