About Chief
5 year old Blue English staffy
From the get go, Chief was really trusting and was happy in his new home, it just showed us that he is able to adjust quickly and promptly if of course his new owners help him to do so.
He has been taken out for a couple walks and loves it
. It can be a short walk however he should be walked daily even if itâs just for a good 25 minutes, he enjoys seeing other dogs. However, we havenât tested him with other dogs as we had been told by his previous owners that he is aggressive when living with another dog as he gets jealous of the shared affection from what we have seen he isnât aggressive at al lwith walking and playing in fact whimpers when he sees other dogs in almost a playful way.
He will need time to adjust and definitely at the new owners discretion can be introduced to other dogs (on a leash) and hopefully build his social skills.
He is extremely strong and will require a harness to control him on his walks as he does like to pull. Although we had been told he wasnât good around dogs, from what we have experienced he doesnât have an aggressive bone in his body. Staffyâs are usually associated with aggression due to their muscular bodies and jaw however, staffyâs are the most loyal, docile and gentle dogs.
Chief is extremely needy as in he will walk by your side all day every day, he prefers to be with you rather than play with his toys or chill in his bed. This being said, he does require someone who will allow him the freedom to explore indoors and outdoors and will more importantly give him the attention he wants throughout the day. Chief needs mind stimulation in order to keep him well behaved. He is extremely well behaved already but does need continuous training. He listens very well and will sit and stay when he is told to (firmly). It is safe to say he is very well trained, as well as toilet trained. Like every other dog, if he is left inside for too long he wonât be able to hold it so he does need access to the outdoors as well as the indoors.
Chief is extremely happy all the time, walking around the house with his tail wagging from the moment he stepped in here. He welcomes people into the home lovingly so he isnât afraid of strangers but gets very excited around a large group of people, itâs really great to see how friendly he is. He loves to sit on the couch, and lay his head on you. So his new owners definitely need to be welcoming to chief being on the furniture most of the time.
His sleeping pattern is great and will often sleep throughout the night with no whimpers or barks. His bed time is around 8pm-6am, however he is happy to keep on sleeping away while youâre doing your own thing.
Chief is very affectionate and will slobber you with kisses all the time so be prepared for a lot of love!! Chief hasnât been tested around younger kids and because of his weight and size he isnât suited to a home with younger kids but rather a house of adults, with no other dogs or cats. He wants all your love to himself, and refuses to share it! He can get quite jealous.
Chief is currently on a dry food diet however he is happy to eat everything you give him, he wonât refuse it. He is not fussy at all. Again, chief is not aggressive and will allow you to fill up his
