About Dudley
Are you searching for a lap cat? In need of a snuggle buddy to keep you feet warm at night? Well then Dudley is your guy! đ
Dudley is best described as an absolute flirt! He will constantly be snuggling up to you and rubbing his face on your hand, or leg, or any part of you he can reach. He's quite happy to sit on your lap or by your side while you're busy but when he's ready for some extra attention he'll let you know with a little face nudge. He likes to always be able to access you night and day, just to check in with a kitty kiss.
This gorgeous boy comes in a jumbo size package at 6.6 kilos. He loves any and all food so be prepared to have a supervisor whenever cooking or eating, he almost looks offended by the concept that all food in the house isn't for him alone.
Dudley was unfortunate enough to acquire FIV which so commonly results in a death sentence at the pound. It is inconceivable to think that if Happy Tails had not swooped in at the last moment the world would be lacking a snugly, affectionate, and deserving cat.
What is feline immunodeficiency virus (FIV)?
⢠FIV is a viral disease which affects the immune system of a cat. Immunodeficiency is the medical term used to describe the bodies inability to develop a normal immune response. Most cats do not show symptoms and have a normal life expectancy however they are prone to developing other infections.
How is it transmitted and who can get FIV?
⢠FIV cannot be transmitted to humans or dogs, only to other cats through deep bite wounds where the saliva enters the blood stream. This disease is commonly seen in outdoor cats who fight⌠another reason to keep your cat indoors!
How long do FIV+ cats live for?
⢠FIV cats can live long and healthy lives as long as they are fed a good quality palatable diet to encourage good nutrition, kept indoors and keep their parasite control up to date. It is recommended that FIV cats visit the vet for a check-up twice a year. It is important that an FIV+ cat lives in a stress-free home to reduce the chances of it becoming sick.
