About Lulu Pup
**Applications must have another well socialised, playful, confident dog. Owner must be experienced dog owners and not working full-time to help with transitioning period & Lulu's ongoing training**
Lulu is beautiful & loving pup. This is a long bio, because Lulu is a very special case and will need some very experienced, patient, 100% committed adoptive parents. She is the kind of dog that would be another dog’s absolute BEST friend, but she also is very loyal and loving to her people once bonded and comfortable, which will take some time.
Lulu is a vibrant, energetic young dog. She loves to tumble and play with her foster brother and enjoys human company. Lulu is very switched on, she is also food driven, these factors have helped greatly in her training so far. Lulu will require a lot of commitment & further training to reinforce her foundations and to bond with her new people. Initially, Lulu will benefit from someone being home all the time to help her settle in, get comfortable and learn the ropes / boundaries & keep an eye on her as she adjusts. Her new family must be able to commit to 1-on-1 training with a trainer approved by FFAR. We would strongly recommend that her adopter considers this commitment before applying, as it will be a long term investment into Lulu so that she grows up through her adolescence and adult stages as a confident, resilient and well-adjusted dog
Lulu did not have the best start to life, when she arrived into her foster home she was extremely timid and afraid of humans, however over the last month whilst settling into a new life, daily training and hard work, being shown patience, love and guidance every step of the way – she has really flourished and is gaining her confidence in leaps and bounds. She has approached every challenge with a great attitude and has had great success.
Lulu sits, drops, hi-5s and comes on command, once she has bonded & settled with her people. She continues to grow her confidence when walking on the leash, she has shown some leash reactivity towards other dogs, this will need to be worked through. Lulu sleeps through the night on her own bed and uses the dog door to toilet when needed.
Lulu has shown some resource guarding with specific dogs. She is not food aggressive to humans in any way. This behaviour is being currently addressed and we strongly believe this can be easily rectified with training.
Lulu’s adoptive family must have a well socialised, playful, confident dog. Lulu takes guidance from older resident dogs, showing her that the world is a great place and safe. She is friendly and playful with other dogs and really wants a playful friend to live with.
Lulu’s background is unknown; however, we believe she did not have the greatest start to life and so she is currently a timid dog around people, new environments and situations. However, her confidence improves daily with behavioural adjustment training & positive reinforcement. She is learning that humans are not all bad and that she can experience love and safety.
Lulu will take some time to settle in a new environment due to these factors so please manage your expectations. She is more wary of men than women. Lulu is very affectionate once she bonds with an owner.
We are not 100% sure what breed Lulu is or how big she will get, at approximately 5ish months old she is around 20kg so we expect her to reach at least 30kg. One thing we know for sure though, is she is a stunning creature.
Lulu is a genuinely beautiful, affectionate puppy who will reward her forever home with a lifetime of love and affection, joy & companionship. She will also be the best-est friend to your resident dog family.
Lulu is currently untested with children or cats, however with slow introductions and training we are sure she would be fine with older kids. Lulu is located in Wantirna South with her loving foster family, which incl. 2 Adults, 2 DogsHorses, chickens & visitors.
