About Molly
!!FOSTER CARER NEEDED!!!
Not yet ready for adoption!
Meet Molly! She's a lovely 4-year-old mix breed girl who came to us from Rockhampton. She and another dog were surrendered at the same time, from the same house... We think we know why... :(
When Molly arrived her foster mum realised that she was limping on her left hind leg. After some investigations, we have discovered that Molly needs to have cruciate surgery. It is long overdue and she is in daily pain (she likely has for a long time). This means she will need surgery ASAP and to spend 6-8 weeks in confinement, as she recovers.
Helping a dog recover from cruciate surgery is a lengthy and slow process. Unfortunately, Molly's foster mum isn't able to be home during the day, so we need her to go to a new home before she can have the surgery.
How can you help?
1. Can you offer to foster care for Molly while she recovers from surgery? This will mean being around during the day so she can have toilet breaks as she will otherwise be on crate rest. You will need to be able to get her to and from our vet in Thornlands. We're looking for a quiet home for her recovery.
2. Can you donate towards her surgery, which is $2000? Simply visit: https://www.gofundme.com/f/oh-golly-molly-you-need-a-new-kn…
We don't often ask for donations, but Molly is the second dog that we have undergoing major surgery this month, funds are tight.
3. Can you comment on and share our Facebook post to help us find her a Foster Carer? (https://www.facebook.com/eavingsrescue/)
Medical notes
Molly requires surgery ASAP. Her recovery from this will include crate rest (with short, 5 minute toilet breaks on leash a few times a day). As the weeks post surgery go on, her amount of activity will increase slightly each week dependant upon her progress.
