About Odie
Hi there, my name is Odie and there is way more to me than just my adorable looks.
I am nearly 15 months old and not had the most conventional start to life. Coming into care I have experienced a lot of firsts. My foster Mum says that there is so much more in life for me to experience yet!
I have thrived in care with the help of my foster fur sisters and brother, who are medium sized dogs. I came into care a very timid, fearful little guy, who was not worldly in the life of a spoilt dog at all. My foster parents say that my confidence is coming along beautifully, so much so I have appointed myself as the cocky side kick to my foster brother who oversees homeland security.
I am one, active playful little guy that enjoys running around chasing balls and wrestling with my fur siblings. I have not yet mastered walking on a lead because to be honest it is a big scary world out there, I think with time, patience and some understanding I will get there.
I am not bothered by the cats in my foster home, but they are very laid back and are used to dogs.
I am okay with children if they give me time to get used to them and give me my space.
I enjoy being an inside dog and I have learnt to use the doggy door to go outside for toileting with the rare accident if it has been raining.
I love wearing my pyjamas when it is cold and love to snuggle into my comfy bed with my soft snuggly blankets or even better in bed with my foster parents.
I love having squeaky toys and chew toys to play with. Pigs ears, Bones and Dentastix are my favourite things to chew on, but with supervision as sometimes I do try to inhale them.
I came into care very underweight so I have been enjoying my food, but as I realise that there is now food in abundance, I can get a little fussy sometimes, but overall, I am pretty good.
To date I have been enjoying roast chicken or a nice slow cooked meal of meat, vegetables, and brown rice with Black Hawk biscuits.
When I initially came into care and finally got the courage to let my foster Mum give me cuddles, I loved it so much that I did not want my foster siblings to come near Mum when it was my cuddle time. But Mum has taught me that there are plenty of cuddles to go around and that I must share her.
My ideal family would be a loving family who will understand and have the time and patience to be able to introduce me to things at my own pace.
I would benefit having a fur sibling or two to play with and to continue teaching me about the life of a loved and spoilt dog.

Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
