About Leela 💕
This adorable little lady is Leela....she may only have 1 eye, but that certainly doesn't slow her down. Due to her contracting FHV (Feline Herpes Virus) at a young age and not being treated, her right eye was badly infected, causing blindness in the eye. So at just 7 weeks of age, Leela underwent surgery to remove the eye and is now a happy, healthy and playful little girl.
Sometimes she may run a little crooked, but she can sneak attack like any other kitten....with hide and seek being her absolute favorite game to play! She also loves to play fetch with a rubber straw and her foster mum on a daily basis. Leela has developed an infatuation with climbing, and is a super snuggly girl. She adores her foster mum and bonded quickly.
Leela is litter trained and LOVES her food.
Although Leela is great with kids of all ages, we will be looking for a home with children over the age of 8 years (or no kids), as she does get startled if approached on her right side. The fact that she has previously had FHV means that she will continue to be a carrier of the virus and stress/illness can cause the virus to be reactivated.
This little sweetheart is needing a pretty special home....an only cat home would be best so there are no concerns of infecting other cats IF the virus is reactivated, but a simple treatment of antibiotics will clear a flare up. A low or no-stress environment will help to reduce flare ups.
To keep Leela safe (and the wildlife), we are looking for an indoor only home, or better still, a home where she also had a secure outdoor enclosed area (so she can enjoy the outdoors safely). That way you'll never have to worry about where she is or the 'presents' she may bring home to show you.
Leela has now had all her vet work done and will be having her final check up (stitches removed from her eye surgery), on Friday 26th June. She will then be ready to head off to her forever home. Located in Wadalba, on the Central Coast NSW.

Adoption details
If you would like to express interest in adopting, we ask that you send through some info about yourself, your family and home, if you rent or own (rental agreement required if renting and rates notice required if you own) and what you can offer this gorgeous baby. Our aim is to find the best homes for our babies, not necessarily first in best dressed, so a good detailed application will make you stand out from the rest.
Once we have received your email outlining the above, those who we feel may be suitable, will be sent an Adoption Questionnaire to complete. Your enquiry will then be passed onto the appropriate carer and successful applicants will be contacted via phone.
