About Daisy
Our sweet Daisy is the most fun dog you will ever meet. She has such enthusiasm for life and ‘fun’ is her middle name.
She thrives on spending time with her humans and being active. She loves going for a long walk or run, playing in the yard or throwing the ball around at the park. As long as her humans are there, she is happy. As much as she loves to run around, she is also quite the snuggle-bum and can often be found on the couch having an afternoon siesta after wearing herself out playing. She will happily cuddle up with you on the couch if you are also in need of a nap.
Daisy can get a little worried when left alone for long periods of time so M-F fulltime workers would not suit her at all. She needs her new family to be around often and would need to be allowed inside her home, especially at night.
Her ideal new family would include her in their daily life, be home a lot of the time or take her with them when they could. Her people will need to understand that she needs a lot of mental stimulation as well as physical stimulation and must be committed to her ongoing training and making sure she has things to do. She is as smart as they come and responds very well to training. Daisy is incredibly fast on her feet and LOVES to chase a ball or rope toy! "BALL" is her favourite word! Someone who jogs or is keen to do agility with her would be a bonus. She would excel at Flyball!
Daisy is happy to be around other calm dogs as long as they don't want her toys but ultimately people are her focus. She is not a dog who gets excited about playing with other dogs. She usually just ignores them.
We have recently discovered that Daisy is not a fan of being in the car on a freeway. The cars going by so fast cause her a lot of stress, so any potential owner would need to manage this with training and desensitizing her to it. She is fine with local car trips, just not the freeway at this stage.
Daisy will make an absolutely wonderful companion for the right person.
*** Daisy is yet to be tested with cats but needs a home without POCKET PETS/POULTRY/BIRDS (she loves to chase birds).
*** SECURE YARD WITH 6' FENCES (minimum) IS A MUST
*** Knowledge of or experience with working dog breeds would be a bonus.
Medical notes
Heartworm tested - negative
Adoption details
We ask that before you apply for one of our animals, you take the time to think through all aspects of having a pet in your home to ensure it is the right thing for both your family and the animal, now and in the future. Please consider how you would approach changes in your home that may affect your pet and how dedicated you would be to keeping/helping your animal when faced with any issues that may arise in the future.
If you have done this and are interested in one of our animals, please fill in our adoption enquiry form - www.cognitoforms.com/LostAndFoundPetsIllawarra1/LostAndFoundPetsIllawarraIncAnimalEnquiryDaisy
Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's profile.
We will then organise a time for you to meet with the foster carer and the pet you are interested in to see if it is the right match.
Before adoption, all of our animals are health checked, vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, flea/worm treated and heart worm tested (where appropriate).
