About Brass
A big fluffy grey cat starting hanging around one of our foster carers house. He would stare in enviously at the cats living the inside life, and our foster carer, being a sensitive soul, started to feed him. She borrowed a trap and tried unsuccessfully for weeks to trap this darned cat, to no avail. One day he sat at the door letting out piteous little meows of hunger, so she propped open her screen door, put a lovely big plate of fishy cat food in the hallway and stood hidden behind the front door. Bold as brass, he wandered in and started eating, foster carer shut the front door and said ""gotcha!"" and he looked around, looked unimpressed with her cleverness and continued to eat the food then made himself right at home.
As per law, Brass (the name stuck, it was that or 'Myer') spent 8 days at Lost Dogs Home waiting for an owner that never came forward. Then he had vet work and a comprehensive dental with a couple of extra treatments over three weeks. Brass was given much food and fussing, he became a cattery favourite - and it shows! He came out to our foster carer considerably rounder than when he went in.
Brass is sadly FIV+ and will need to be an inside cat without exception, the only lead & harness walkies he can go on will be in his backyard (unless it's fully cat proofed). Which annoys him no end because he wants to go back to roaming the streets... well only occasionally, now he's really enjoying being inside and getting cuddled and fed regularly.
Brass has the most gorgeous soft fluffy fur, and big fluffy paws, and a ruff like a maine coon. He's a big tolerant cat who doesn't mind being picked up but when he's had enough, he'll let you know and get down. Brass won't start a fight but by gosh he'll finish one, he's already slapped the resident bastard Mr Biggles into line a couple of times. Now they aren't allowed in the same space together because neither of them will behave ""you want a piece of me?"" ""Yeah I'll take you on!"" ""Come here and say that to my whiskers!!!"" ... you get the picture.
Brass is excellent with his roommate, the shy Cookie and absolutely fine with the bonkers kittens in the house, but he will be top tomcat and that's that.
If you've got no other cats or a cat that's already FIV+ and rather easygoing, then bold as Brass is just the big teddybear cat for you. Just look at that face, he's a big sweetheart of a lion cat... apply now!
Brass is a healthy raw fed cat who has been wormed, flea treated, vaccinated, desexed and microchipped (microchip #956000013059573, source #EE101165). He is available for adoption right now!
