About Elsa
** LOCAL ADOPTION TO BROOME REQUIRED AS ELSA WILL NOT BE SUITABLE TO FLY TO PERTH**
Elsa is a gentle, loyal, quiet, and funny little friend. She enjoys the quiet life and is best suited to a home where she can be inside and snuggled up with you, with lots of belly rubs.
When Elsa first came to us she was extremely timid and just wanted to hide. Though she is still wary of new people, especially males, she has come a long way in a short amount of time. Elsa has learned quickly to trust her foster family and their regular visitors, and has even started showing interest in meeting other dogs on the beach, so we know she has it in her to continue to learn that the world is not so scary. It would be great if her new home was committed to giving her new, positive experiences, so that she can continue to grow confidence. When she smiles at you there's so much love in her eyes, it just melts your heart!
Currently, Elsa lives with two larger male dogs who she looks to for comfort and guidance, but we also think she would be fine to be your one and only. Elsa happily potters around the garden with the chickens, and has paid little attention to cats when she's met them. She is untested on small children, and while she is gentle she does like her space at first, so it may be better if children were old enough to understand this.
Elsa would be fine in a house with full time workers as long as she was able to spend lots of time with you when you're home. She is not destructive and has shown little interest in toys other than collecting socks to have all to herself. Elsa prefers being inside and has low exercise needs. She doesn't always want to go on walks, preferring to snuggle in the couch or sniff around the garden. Basically, Elsa just wants to feel secure, and is happy to be a part of whatever you're doing.
Elsa has successfully been trained out of separation anxiety, although in a new environment with new people it would be ideal if her new family had a few days at home with her to get her settled into her new space and routine.
