About Jack ~ 8mo Jack Russell Terrier (On Trial 27/6/20)
Jack is an 8 month old Jack Russell Terrier. He is charming and super friendly with a gentle nature that will win you over immediately. He has come to us from a very loving home environment and has been very well looked after.
These dogs are usually very energetic, happy dogs with a strong desire to work. Jack is typical of his breed and needs someone to enjoy walking and/or running him. He is most happiest when given companionship, a lot of exercise, and a job to do. Games and adventures are also essential to keep him stimulated and happy. He is very attentive and will look you in the eye to try to understand your conversation. He does enjoy down-time as well, and gives the most incredible cuddles as he snuggles into you on the lounge day or night.
Jack enjoys his 30 minute morning and afternoon walks and twice a week runs very much and is quite good on the lead though will need more training in that regard, and we recommend puppy training classes. He is in the process of learning to come, sit and stay.
Jack loves to meet other dogs and, if they are up to it, will play and wrestle. He is fine with other dogs in the home environment and mixes well with our son's two Border Collies who visit often but do not live with us. We take him for runs on the beach on a long rope which gives him the freedom to run with the bigger dogs.
A large fenced yard would be ideal which would allow him to run and explore and satisfy his urge to hunt.
He has no issues travelling in the car whether he be secured in the front or back.
Jack sleeps inside on his bed at night and is fully house trained. He is proficient at using the dog door during the day but does not have access to outside at night.
Jack is the perfect companion for an active/busy family with older children who would be willing to give him all his necessary requirements and continue with his training. This little boy will return the love and devotion in bucket loads and will become an awesome part of your family. He is not the breed for you if you expect him to sit on the couch all day.
