About Peanut
Meet Peanut! He’s a bouncy, happy, full-of-life boy and at 18 months old is just learning about all the joys of life.
Peanut’s current foster carers quickly brought him into their home so that he would never have to race. However, they are not in a position to keep him long-term so we are looking for a foster home or even better, a forever home for this lucky lad.
In the space of just two weeks, Peanut has shown he’s a quick learner and is settling in well. However, a forever home, will need to keep in mind that he is a still a young boy, and will need some time and patience to learn all his best behaviours.
Peanut would suit a more active household, happy to dedicate some time to skills/learning games and to take him on nice walks. Being a young boy, a home with some outdoor space would be best, so he can do his zoomies. No apartment applications please.
In his first week, Peanut showed some anxiety and barking when left home alone but has since settled in well to short periods alone. However, we would like a new home to spend some time helping him settle before leaving him home alone, and our preference is for a home with PT workers or people working from home. Please consider your working hours/social life post-Covid as well as right now, if you are interested in Peanut.
Peanut seems to be a sociable boy and although he hasn’t had much chance to interact with other dogs, he is very excited and happy to meet other greyhounds on walks. Peanut generally walks well on-leash but he does ‘freeze’ occasionally and needs a little help to build his confidence in the big, wide world.
Peanut has not been tested with other dog breeds or cats. Because we are still learning about Peanut, applications from homes with no resident dogs or greyhound only are preferred. No applications from homes with small dogs or cats please.
