About Maxie
Maxie is a 7 month old Kelpie who desperately seeks someone willing to make him family.
Maxie is true to Kelpie nature; energetic, intelligent, loyal.. and he is a real sook; his favourite thing to do is cuddle on the couch!
He is completely toilet trained and knows basic commands of sit and drop, knows his bed, and is exceptionally fast at picking things up.. though he is still a puppy and can get overwhelmed so will need patience.
Maxie absolutely loves kids, and is great with our two toddlers, but due to his excitable nature he would be better suited to a family with older children (5+).
Ideally he would love a family environment with lots of cuddles and attention, though a single person or couple with plenty of time to give him will suit him well too. He is comfortable outdoors, but really loves to be inside majority of the time.

OUR ADOPTION PROCESS
1. You see a dog you like.
2. Fill in our online adoption form by clicking here or on our website. Be sure to include any questions you may have on our adoption form. This form does not obligate you to adopt, it simply gives us an idea of your situation and needs.

3. If your are successful, one of our volunteers will contact you to organise a meet and greet at your home and conduct a yard check at the same time.
4. Should all go to plan, you will be welcomed to start your 2 week trial period immediately. Adoption fee will be required to be paid at the beginning of the trial period.
During the 2 week trial period, should you decide that this dog is not for you, you are welcome to return the dog (the more notice the better, to ensure we have a foster carer available) and your payment will be retunded to you in full, within 3 business days of the return of the dog.

We are a volunteer run organisation, who have their own jobs during the day, we don't have someone manning our phones 24/7, therefore cannot respond to all inquiries immediately. The fastest way to have your questions answered is to include it in the application form. This will speed up your application with us, and help us communicate with you faster.
Please be patient with us, as the unpredictable nature of rescue may prevent us from clearing all enquiries regularly.
