About Blonde
Blonde is a gorgeous purebred Norwegian Forest girl with loads of personality. She's very affectionate and loves snuggling wherever her humans are hanging out. The name Blonde is of German origin and means soft or delicate, which perfectly describes both her personality and stunning coat.
She's a sweet, loving cat that appreciates praise and loves to interact with her humans. She's a loving companion and bonds with her humans once she accepts them for her own.
Her long coat will need to be brushed once or twice a week, which she loves. Tangles are rare and can usually be worked out gently. A bath is rarely necessary, which is a good thing given her practically waterproof coat. We know from experience that it can be very difficult to get her wet enough for a bath.
Blonde turns 5 at the end of June, so is only just reaching maturity for her breed. She still enjoys playing and is entertaining to watch with some of her antics.
Blonde has been raised as an indoor only cat with access to a small enclosed garden where she loves to climb and explore. She's lived with other cats but prefers not to share her humans so would be happiest as an only cat. She's not keen on dogs or very young children.
Please note Blonde is being re-homed due to difficult personal circumstances for her previous owners. She's been very loved and cared for by the family, who are upset about having to find her a new home. She will come with all of her own things when she moves.
Below is some information about the Norwegian Forest Cat to help you better understand their character and traits.
The gentle and friendly Norwegian Forest Cat—Wegie, for short—is fond of family members but does not demand constant attention and petting. Satisfied to be in the same room with people and will entertain themself if no one is home.
Although they appreciate human company, they can be a bit reserved with visitors. Even with family, they're not much of a lap cat, but a nice scritch between the ears or beneath the chin is always welcome, which is often reciprocated with a nice head butt or cheek rub. They communicate with classic Scandinavian restraint, only using their quiet voice when they need something—dinner on time, perhaps—and rise only if ignored.
This athletic cat is a climber so you will often find them at the highest point they can reach in the home. Unlike some cats, they have no qualms about descending trees or other heights headfirst.
Thanks to their heritage as a wilderness and farm cat, not to mention a waterproof coat, the Wegie thinks nothing of fishing in a body of water for a nice meal. Aquarium and koi pond denizens, beware! While they love the outdoors, they're content to live quietly in a home.
This is a smart, independent cat who learns quickly and has an alert nature. The Norwegian has never forgot their heritage and is still a hunter at heart. They love to chase toys as if they are real. They're territorial and patrol several times each day to make certain that all is fine.
