About Benji

Beautiful Benji has come a long way since his days roughing it on the streets. With a bit of patience, a few treats and some motivational quotes, Benji has become an affectionate, sassy little guy with oodles of personality and a tonne of energy. :)
In his element, Benji is friendly, playful and fun. He may follow you around the house, chat to you, ask you to play, run over for head scratches, or just lay somewhere close by and relax. He may even jump onto your lap for a cuddle if he’s in the mood. He'll also sneak away for a nap when he wants some space. Benji loves his playtime and spends hours sitting at the backdoor watching the world outside. He’d love access to a safe yard or garden where he can be the free kitty he once was.
As old habits die hard, Benji is still shy with new people and still gets nervous occasionally. He's looking for a patient and understanding home where he'll be given all the time he needs to settle in and feel comfortable.
Like all Maggie's pets, Benji is microchipped, desexed and vaccinated.

MY IDEAL HOME: As I'm still young, I'd probably adapt to most places and people, but I'd best suit a home with a single person/couple with another pet or a family with older kids.. Someone who works from home or part time would be perfect as I like human company. I’d also love a backyard and/or another pet to keep me company. I'll need some interactive playtime with you, as I’m still very playful.
MY ENERGY LEVEL: I would play all day if I could stay awake! I get very excited about my favourite games, like Cork-in-a-Shoe-Box - cheapest toy ever! Like most cats, I love my sleeps too.
MY SUITABILITY TO CHILDREN: Because I can get excited or overwhelmed sometimes, I'm not suited to small children. Older kids who respect my boundaries would be a great match.
MY SUITABILITY TO CATS AND DOGS: I reckon I'd really enjoy the chance to be BFFs with another friendly pet!

We ask all people looking to adopt to fill in our adoption enquiry form at https://form.jotform.co/92940837256870. Please use this link rather than the 'Enquire' button on the pet's PetRescue profile to streamline your enquiry.
Our foster carer will contact you when we receive your application to arrange a time for you to meet with their foster pet.
We want your adoption through Maggie's to be a good experience so we will occasionally suggest a different cat or dog that may suit your situation better and the needs of the individual pet.
All our pets leave for their new homes on a two week trial. At the end of the trial, we will transfer the microchip into your name and provide you with the pets vet certificates. Once you receive the Certificate of Identification from council, your adoption will be complete.
Please consider, that a Maggie's Pet is a pet for Life, before adopting.
