About Star ~ 9yo Greyhound (On Trial 21/06/20)
Hi everyone! My name is Star and I am a 9-year-old black and white Greyhound. I am the sweetest girl you could ever meet who loves nothing more than naps, leisurely walks and cuddles.
I was rescued from the racetracks but during my time racing I broke my ankle which was left to heal untreated. Due to this I have a permanent bend in my front leg which reduces my range of motion. This does not stop me from enjoying life. I still love to go on short gentle walks with the humans and I try to keep up with my foster siblings when they play in the backyard. My bent leg also means I need to be lifted in and out of the car if you want to take me for a drive as jumping causes too much strain on my joints. Although my leg does not stop me from having fun; sometimes I can overdo it and will need pain medication to help with my flare ups.
I absolutely love food and will let you know when breakfast and dinner need to be started. I recently had a bunch of teeth removed so eating dinner can be kind of messy, but my cuteness makes up for it.
I’m not big on playtime, much preferring to get cuddles and sleep on my bed or share the lounge with the humans. My favorite thing to do in the world is what my humans call “Roaching” where I lay on my back with my legs and belly in the air. When I do this my humans think it is very goofy and adorable.
I do not get along with small dogs, pocket pets or cats but would be happy with a playmate my size or bigger. I would also be happy to be an only pet, provided my new family gives me lots of love and attention.
I currently sleep indoors at night on my bed with a jumper on to keep me warm. In the mornings I like to go outside and sunbake. I will need a family who will let me be primarily inside with access to the outside.
I am toilet trained and will let my humans know I need to go to the toilet by crying at the back door. Although, as a senior lady, I have occasionally wet the bed while I was asleep and will need ongoing medication to treat this.
I would suit an adult, couple or family with low energy who will relax with me throughout my senior years.
For more information or to meet me please email my foster mum Vanessa at vanessa.garvin@hotmail.com or message her on 0401 614 510 . I am located in Raymond Terrace NSW 2324. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt.
My adoption fee is $150 and includes my desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and I’ve been treated for fleas and worms.

Adoption details
(1) The first step is to fill in our online Adoption Questionnaire:
https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
If there is a phone number listed in the dog's profile then you can also phone for more information.
(2) If the questionnaire is approved you can arrange to meet the pet, usually at the foster carer's home or nearby.
(3) If that goes well we will arrange a property check so we can verify that your home and yard are suitable for the pet you've selected. We will ask to see photo ID.
(4) If both sides agree, then you can pay for and adopt your new family member! The two week trial begins on the day of adoption. More details of our Adoption Procedure on our website: https://tinyurl.com/adoptproc
