About Reba ~ gorgeous 3yo Greyhound (On Trial 23/06/20)
Hi everyone, my name is Reba and I am a 3-year-old black and white greyhound. I am an extremely sweet girl who loves to play during the day and cuddle up to my humans at night.
I was rescued from the racetracks, so I have not experienced some things that other puppies have. I am still getting use to loud noises like traffic and the vacuum cleaner and I can get a bit nervous when going on walks. My humans have been helping me overcome these fears and they say I am adjusting to puppy life super quick. Aside from those scary loud noises I am very well behaved on walks; I do not pull on the lead or constantly stop and sniff.
When we are home, I love to play fetch with tennis balls and run around the yard with the three other dogs in my human’s care. Although the other dogs play with me; they are older and cannot keep up with me, so I like to chew on toys provided by the humans as well. As a younger girl, I am still learning my manners and may try and sneak food from the counter or chew on something that is not a toy like the human’s shoe boxes. They have been training me on these manners and believe I am making great progress.
I love my food and will occasionally growl at the other dogs as a warning if they try to steal my dinner or bones. My humans have been training me to share and not be possessive of the food I am given.
One thing that is new to me, but I have come to love is cuddle time. I love to cuddle on the lounge and will sometimes even sit on your lap and cuddle you how a human would. I also like to snuggle up to the bigger dogs and steal their warmth at night too. As I am so affectionate, I forget my size and do not understand the concept of personal space. Due to this I would be better suited to a family of older children and adults who can handle my weight and size.
Due to my energy levels I would be best suited to a family who could take me for walks at least twenty to thirty minutes daily and spend ten to fifteen minutes of playtime in the yard. I am not great with small dogs, cats, or pocket pets but would love to have a playmate my size or larger.
I need a family who will let me have access to both outside and inside. As a Greyhound I am thin skinned and need to sleep indoors and wear a jumper at night. I also am very social, so I do not cope well with being left alone for long periods of time. When my humans do go out, it is best that I am indoors as I can get anxious and dig in the backyard.
My foster family believe I would make a great addition to any family willing to put in the time, patience, energy, and love.
For more information or to meet me, please email my foster mum Vanessa at vanessa.garvin@hotmail.com . I am located in Raymond Terrace NSW. You can also fill out the adoption questionnaire here https://tinyurl.com/drnadopt
My adoption fee is $300 and includes my desexing, vaccinations and microchipping and I’ve been treated for fleas and worms.
