It's finally time for our gorgeous little man to start looking for his perfect forever family. Elliot came into our care as a tiny 3 week old kitten, after being surrendered to a veterinary clinic because of his birth defects.
Elliot had "Swimmers Legs" as a baby, and spent quite a few weeks with his hind legs strapped together to encourage correct leg placement and growth. Together with strapping and physio, Elliot's legs corrected over time. As he got bigger they became stronger, and now it is incredibly hard to even notice there was something wrong. Very occasionally you can notice that he sits with his back feet pointing outwards a bit more than another kitten would. It is very minor, and doesn't worry him in the slightest.
Elliot was also born with very mild Hemivertebrae, which is where his spine between his shoulder blades dips downwards a bit more than normal. He has a very mild case of this condition, and isn't expected to cause him and issues as he grows. And because everything comes in 3's, little Elliot was also born with "Pectus Excavatum" which can be known as "Flat Chested Syndrome". As a baby his chest was very flat underneath his body, and gave him a bit of a "flat pancake appearance". Luckily for little Elliot - with daily physio, correct bedding, and watching his positioning when he slept and ate has meant that his chest has almost normalised, and he doesn't require surgical treatment. Elliot has a slightly different body shape due to these skeletal deformities, his tummy sits a bit further away from his chest than a normal kitten, which gives him a bit of a pot bellied appearance (especially after a big meal). He also has slightly less room for his lungs than a normal kitten would.
Aside from his congenital defects, Elliot is a happy, cheeky little man. He loves to be around his humans and adores attention. He's still a bit of a baby at heart, and would love a family looking for a fun loving sooky baby. Elliot loves other cats and kittens, and must be rehomed to a family who has another cat for company. He has never been on his own, and he hates it if he is separated from his foster friends. Elliot LOVES his food, and won't wait quietly for his dinner to be served. He makes sure we know he is near starved to death 😝.
PLEASE READ BEFORE APPLYING
Currently at 4 months of age, Elliot is a very happy and active little man. He doesn't tire easily like some animals with Pectus Excavatum can, and he shows no signs of discomfort with any of this congenial abnormalities. However please note, like with any of our rescue animals - but especially our special needs babies, we can not guarantee that this won't change in Elliot's future. We are looking for a family for Elliot who will be dedicated to his health long term, and who will provide him with regular routine vet checks to ensure his health and little wonky body isn't changing. A vet reference when applying will be required.
Please pm our page if you would like to know more about our little man, or to submit and enquiry. ❤
