About Ruddle
Ruddle is an all-round fantastic dog who is the ultimate companion. This guy is super friendly and affectionate! He loves being around people and will drop for a belly rub at almost every opportunity. Ruddle is well-balanced and very laid back, happy to chill out with is foster carers and take naps. He takes the world in his stride and is always ready to greet you with a happy waggy tail.
Unfortunately Ruddle hasn’t been dealt the best hand of cards and has recently been diagnosed with spondylosis- a degeneration of the vertebral discs. It cannot be cured but it can be managed to increase mobility and reduce pain. Due to this diagnosis we are looking for a special home for an amazing dog who is worth his weight in gold.
Ruddle is looking for a retirement style home with someone home more often than not. He is fine at home by himself but due to his medical condition he cannot go for long walks so to get the most out of life we feel it’s only fair he has a lot of company. He loves his walks but he needs a family who understands his limitations and will only take him for a 10 minute slow stroll around the block to have a sniff and stretch his legs.
Ruddle has been a dream for his foster carers. He has lovely house manners, waits for his food and is toilet trained. He sleeps in his bed inside throughout the night. He walks nicely on the lead and sits on command. Ruddle is fine with other dogs and could live with another dog as long as any doggy friends are very chilled out as being jumped on or begged to play will not be suitable.
We are looking for a loving home for Ruddle where he will be a part of the family. He should have access inside to spend time with the family and will need a nice bed inside to sleep on at night. Ruddle has not been tested with cats and pocket pets. He does like to lean in for pats so his large size probably makes him a better suit for more dog savvy or older children.
We will discuss in great detail his medical condition with all potential families but interested families need to be committed to the ongoing costs involved in managing a dog with spondylosis. This involves at a minimum courses of cartrophen (inexpensive), supplements and anti-inflammatories as needed.
If you think you are the special family who can provide our beautiful boy the loving home he deserves and can commit to providing him with the care he needs to live a happy life please fill out a dog adoption enquiry form on the Fetching Dogs website as the next step.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
