IMPORTANT NOTICE

PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A DOG

We are very concerned about the health of our volunteers and their families.
To protect them, we require you to read the following and answer honestly before any meet and greets can be organised.

IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS

Any of these symptoms, or any family member displaying, we ask you to wait before applying for a dog -

* Coughing or sneezing
* runny or blocked nose
* shortness of breath
* high temperature or fever
* sore throat
* aches or pains
* other flu like symptoms

If you have returned from overseas or been on a cruise anywhere in the world, please do not apply within 2 weeks of your return to Australia.

If you are in self isolation, please do not apply, you need to stay at home.

Thank you for valuing our carers health, knowing that a false declaration will endanger them and any future animals that we would be unable to help.

RJ is of the opinion he was destined to be a lapdog in this and past lives – however, the size of him does beg to differ.

He is looking for a home where he can be the centre of your attention, and preferably on the couch right beside you. He’s a big, gentle boy – quiet and a little timid. He is not a fan of loud noises, or sudden changes.

Not suited to an outdoor lifestyle, RJ is looking for a family who can spend most of the day with him and give him all the love he deserves.

He is okay to be left alone for some of the day – happy to chill on his bed (or your sofa!). He is quite the couch potato when left to his own devices.

He is highly food motivated and responds well to training despite being a little stubborn. He is house trained and we’ve been working on his manners whilst walking – but that is definitely something that will need to be continued as he can pull like a small freight train.

Whilst RJ does not mind the company of other dogs or cats, he firmly prefers the company of his humans and wants nothing more than to be as close to them as possible.
