About Lochie
Lochie is a very sweet boy with a kind and loving nature who LOVES to be around his people. If he could he would be around people all day long, we think part of him thinks he should be a lap dog. He does also enjoy being outside and running around the yard exploring and also sleeping in the sunshine.
Lochie can be a little shy at first but he does love to make friends with people and dogs of all shapes and sizes. He has been in a foster home with cats and although he may bark at them, it’s a why wont you play with me bark, not an I want to hurt you bark.
Lochie is very playful and loves having another dog around to run and play with. He also loves toys and balls and is learning fetch (so far he is more interested in chasing ball and playing with it than returning it but he is improving) He is doing well with lead training in the yard and is really keen to be able to go for walks in the big wide exciting world. He is a clever boy and loves to please, being food orientated he learns quickly for treats. He knows how to sit, lay down, go to his bed, go outside, and wait for food. Lochie is also crate trained for night sleeps and is doing well with his toilet training. A typical puppy, he is active and playful for a time and then enjoys a nap for an hour or so before he is up and ready to go again.
A condition of our adoption agreement is that all dogs adopted from Chally MUST be put through obedience training, if you cannot meet this commitment after covid please do not apply. All our dogs deserve the chance to be the very best they can be and we will choose homes that will ensure this is the case.
We have conducted DNA testing on the litter and results will be provided to their new families. Breeds in these guys are kelpie, Border Collie, Deerhound, and Greyhound
Adoption details
All forms (including foster and adoption) can be found at the following link:
http://www.challyanimalrescue.org.au/adopt.php
** Only applications submitted via this link will be considered **
Our adoption process is as follows:
1) Animal is listed on PetRescue
2) Applications are received
3) The application which we feel offers the best-suited home to the pet is contacted for first preference of a meet and greet to see if they 'click' with the animal.
We do not follow a first-in, first-served process and only consider applications completed via our online form.
Due the popularity of some dogs - and the fact that our rescue is run entirely by volunteers - we cannot guarantee that all unsuccessful applicants will be notified, however we will do our best.
