About Spooks
IMPORTANT NOTICE
PLEASE READ CAREFULLY BEFORE APPLYING FOR A DOG
We are very concerned about the health of our volunteers and their families.
To protect them, we require you to read the following and answer honestly before any meet and greets can be organised.
IF YOU HAVE SYMPTOMS
Any of these symptoms, or any family member displaying, we ask you to wait before applying for a dog -
* Coughing or sneezing
* runny or blocked nose
* shortness of breath
* high temperature or fever
* sore throat
* aches or pains
* other flu like symptoms
If you have returned from overseas or been on a cruise anywhere in the world, please do not apply within 2 weeks of your return to Australia.
If you are in self isolation, please do not apply, you need to stay at home.
Thank you for valuing our carers health, knowing that a false declaration will endanger them and any future animals that we would be unable to help.
We require you to acknowledge that you have read and agree with all statements before any potential meet and greet can proceed.

Are you looking for a young dog, who is smart and keen to learn?
Spooks may be the dog for you, although young he is learning to sit, drop, walk on the lead and even carry his food bowl outside.
Spooks is doing better with toilet training although not 100% there quite yet. Spooks sleeps in a crate at night and will alert us if he needs to go outside.
Spooks will need a home where there is consistency and an experienced owner who can teach him manners and reinforce good behaviour. He would benefit with attending obedience classes for the learning and social benefits.
Spooks is currently living in a home with a kitten, cat, staffy x and mini foxy x and an 8 year old child.
He needs supervision around the smaller animals as the cats are a bit exciting when they run and he will chase them. The cats are used to dogs and when they hiss or swipe at him he does stop and step back.
He loves his staffy x buddy, but the small dog does not appreciate his playful personality. Spooks is also good with his 8 year old human although he is still learning not to jump, so a house with older children or children who have had a lot of interaction with dogs is recommended.
Spooks loves being around his humans and will settle in the lounge room of an evening. During the day he is very curious and loves to be part of everything we are doing.
Spooks will spend some time outside on his own but prefers the company of another dog or human. He can be quite vocal about being left outside, so more suited to a family that is home a lot and/or have another dog in residence.
