About Jalak
Jalak is an incredibly affectionate boy who is really happy to curl up on the sofa for a cuddle with his family. He’s super intelligent, so learning his manners and tricks is coming along really well. Although he’s intelligent, he’s really entertaining as he is very clumsy and sometimes forgets his feet are there and trips over! Jalak is a very social dog. Loves people talking to him, loves attention and LOVES playing with his foster sister.
He is submissive to new dogs when he meets them out and about and loves to run around and play once he knows they are happy to play with him. He still needs some confidence building at the dog park but does do much better when he is with his foster sister. This means he will really benefit from a home where the other dog is happy and confident. As he loves to play, Jalak will be best suited to a home with another medium to large playful dog. He walks well on the lead and he is fine off the lead in off leash areas, but still needs some work on his recall. Jalak will need daily exercise and mental stimulation to meet his needs.
Jalak came to his foster carers with all his puppy traits, so he is still learning not to jump and to be less mouthy with people’s hands when playing. He is learning really quickly but his family will need to be committed and consistent to ensure that he continues to progress. He can sit, lie down and is almost perfect at ‘stay’. Training classes would be recommended to advance him further. Jalak is toilet trained and can be left alone with another dog for a few hours. He sleeps in his crate at night and sleeps through the night. If he is allowed to sleep in the same room as one of his humans he settles straight away but if by himself he needs company until he settles down for sleep.
We are looking for an experienced home for Jalak where he will be part of the family and included in the daily activities and outings. He will need a home with another suitable dog for company and where someone is home more often than not as he gets a little anxious when left along without any dog or human for company. As Jalak is still learning not to mouth and jump he is best suited to much older or no children who can participate in the training journey. He is not aggressive with other animals but will chase so is better suited to a home without cats.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
