About Baxter
Hi I'm Baxter, and I'm looking for my furever home.
I love to sleep and lie in my bed all day. I usually won't get out of bed unless I'm sure to get a really good treat, or unless it's walk time! I love to go for walks, and especially love to meet all the other dogs. When I'm down the beach and off the lead I love running (waddling) up to all the dogs and having a good sniff! When I'm walking around the neighbourhood I still want to sniff all the dogs, but my Foster ma doesn't always let me because she says sometimes I'm snappy. But I will always still try and pull (even when it sounds like I can't breathe) because maybe one time she'll forget. I had a small tumble on my leg recently and I can't walk as far as I used too, but hopefully it's getting better.
I love to snuggle and get pats, but I also don't mind doing my own thing. Unless my doggo sister is out for a walk without me, then I will cry. I don't like to miss out!!
I love kids, but they have to understand I am old and can sometimes have a sore leg. (And sometimes I get grumpy if you try and pick me up from my bed).
I love exploring the garden at home and getting all the little sticky seeds stuck in my really thick curly fur. I'll need my new parents to get these out and give me a brush regularly so I can stay beautiful.
I'm fully house trained but I can't use a dog door, I'll sit by the door if I need to go outside. I will also let you know if someone is walking past the house (a thing I'm not always appreciated for). A house with no stairs would be best, as I can get down them but sometimes I'm too tired to get back up (unless you want to carry me. I also like being carried on my walks when I get tired too by the way).
I've had a long hard life and I just want somewhere I can sleep and get belly rubs all day and then go for a little walk, am I the man for you?
Medical notes
I hurt my leg a while ago so sometimes it acts up and i can limp for a few days - other times I can limp to get what I want!
Baxter has also had dental work completed.
Adoption details
Paw Prints Canine Rescue is a non for profit dog rescue located in Southeast Queensland.
All our dogs leave our care with full vet work (up-to-date vaccinated, microchipped, desexed, heart worm and intestinal wormed and flea treated).
Please note - They will not leave for their new homes until they are 12 weeks of age and have been desexed, micro-chipped and vaccinated up to date.
Please note - we are not a pound or have kennels - all our dogs stay in foster carers homes and therefore dogs are not able to be simply viewed - only approved applicants will meet the dogs.
We can also be found at https://www.facebook.com/pawprintscanine/
Complete the following adoption enquiry link

Once an adoption enquiry is completed our admin team will assess the application and if successful we will arrange for a meet and greet to be completed. We may also request photos of your yard for consideration of your application. Please note that we will do no more than 3 meet and greets per dog.
If applying to adopt one of our furbabies over the age of 6 months we recommend that you bring to the meet and greet any of your furbabies to see how they interact.
Our adoption fee must be cleared in our bank account before any animal is available for pick up. Please note we bank with ANZ - any other bank may take 48 hours to process the monies.
Paw Prints Canine Rescue has a 2 week trial period – this basically means that if for any reason the adoption does not work out and the dog needs to be returned to us, the adoption fee minus an admin fee (minimum is $100) will be returned to the adoptees via bank transfer within 7 working days.
Please note that if an interstate adoption needs to be returned or regional adoption all transport cost with be paid by the adopter.
Please also note while this can be a very exciting time for everyone, it can also be an overwhelming time for dogs and we ask that you do try and allow your new family member to settle in their new home and adjust
INTERSTATE ADOPTIONS **
Any transport costs are to be paid by the adopting family, however we can assist you in helping with transport to airports etc.
** Please note some of our dogs are not available for interstate adoption
AFTER THE TRIAL PERIOD
After the 2 week trial period is completed Paw Prints Canine will send out all relevant paperwork for your new furbaby.
