Lutana

Lutana is an absolute sweetheart and giving kisses is her all time favourite thing to do! She loves to play fetch, tug of war and to run up and down the hallway just for the hell of it, but will take herself to bed when she’s had enough. Basking in the sun is another favourite and she would do it all day everyday if the sun didn’t move!

Her bed is her safe place. She will sleep in it during the day and at bedtime, however, she is known to sneakily crawl under your bed covers in the early morning and warm up your toes for you! Lutana loves to sleep in and have a morning snuggle or kiss. She is learning the command “go to bed” so when her foster mum is eating or working she won’t beg for food or attention.

Lutana is learning to sit and wait before she can eat her food and is learning quite quickly (and if you’re really lucky she will do a little dance for you while she waits)! Her big smile and smacking of her lips after a meal is just one of her many endearing qualities!

She is apartment friendly and toilet trained, but she would not object to a backyard! She gets excited running up the stairs and may trip over her feet. But she will be very pleased with herself about it, kind of like she’s laughing about it!

Getting into the car is an exciting time for Lutana because she knows there’s an adventure waiting. Having her bed on car trips is great (and comfortable!) as she will settle instantly.

Bath time is not seen as a “fun time” but she is always on her best behaviour (especially if there’s a treat involved). The best reward after her bath is her favourite crab soft toy. Over time it has lost its stuffing and is a bit drabby but that doesn’t stop her from taking it everywhere and snuggling up with it at night.

Lutana is ok on her own as long as there are new “toys” she can play with while you’re gone! Boxes and garbage bags are so fun for her so best to be kept out of reach when you’re not home. She will do her best to not go to the toilet while you’re out, but if you’re gone for too long accidents might happen.

She adores walks and will sit instantly when she sees her lead. While walking she does love to have a good sniff of her surroundings and won’t pull on her lead. Lutana has also learnt that she needs to sit down before she goes inside her home so her lead can be taken off.

Her previous life consisted of a lot of breeding. She has learnt she has to be top dog and hold her ground. While walking past dogs, the right handler who gives clear guidelines she is obedient and will ignore. With someone that is unsure and not being a good leader, she will get over excited, over stimulated and gets frustrated. Impulse control would be the area to work on her excitement. Lutana is a people person and we are just looking for a family for her to love and not have to have a worry or concern about dogs. She is not a dog that can go to a dog park or interact with strangers dogs. She is happy going for a pack walk with other dogs if you are the correct handler.

Lutana would be perfect for a home that loves a quirky, goofy dog who may run into a wall or two if she’s excited. She is best suited in a home that will allow her to sleep close to her family and not outdoors. She is cuddly, smoochy and just a loveable young girl who wants to please her family. She has so much personality that will keep the entire family entertained.
