About Imai
Imai is a sweet and gentle girl, who gets excitable when she anticipates fun coming! She is an athletic dog but she really loves her lounging around time too.
She starts off shy but she comes out of her shell when she’s given time and guidance. Imai is a really fast learner; she is crate training well so far, coming along with her toilet training, and progressing with her ‘sit’ and ‘drop’ commands. She also travels well in the car.
Imai loves food! She enjoys doing training session as she loves to learn, and with food as treats she is super engaged and motivated.
When first meeting other dogs she gets a little worried, especially with extra excitable ones, so she needs to have an appropriate introduction. She’s really great with meeting calmer dogs. Once she’s met them she loves to play and rumble around with them.
Imai doesn’t like cats so a home without cats is preferable, although she is learning to tolerate them.
As Imai is timid outside the house she will need some guidance and continued training to build her confidence and prevent any leash reactivity coming through. She walks well on the leash with cues from her handler so we want this to be continued so she can feel really safe and confident when out and about! She also needs to continue working on her impulse control with food, as she really does love any tasty looking snacks left around!
We are looking for a home without cats, unless the cat is one which has its own space or will not be at all bothered by Imai. Beginner dog owners are okay, as long as training will be continued after adoption. Imai is good with kids, but due to her size we are looking for a home with kids over 5 years old.
Ideally you would be home most days or have another confident and easy going dog at home for company. A family needs to be committed to her ongoing confidence building, training and socialisation with a warm comfy bed inside at night.
If you think you can offer this sweet girl the loving home she deserves, please complete the adoption enquiry form to register your interest.
Imai’s foster carer will offer discounted training sessions to her new family.

Don't see a breed attached to one of our dogs? That's because we don't breed label dogs of unknown genetic history. We can't guess at breeds but that's okay, because we can tell you about the dog's individual personality, character, and behaviour.
